It's been nearly twenty years since I dived Grand Cayman, and in four days I'll return there, this time to do some tech diving with Dive Tech, a relatively new operator there. Although I have always considered Cayman Brac and Little Cayman to be better diving destinations, Dive Tech looks very good from what I have read and heard, and the tech diving opportunities in the Caymans are pretty much limited to Grand right now. BTW the Russian Destroyer on Brac is barely a tech dive IMHO. Two things I intend to look for: 1) are coral and marine life any more interesting at 200 feet on trimix than at 20 feet on air?, and 2) will I see my first Doing-It-Rightist? -- so far, after twenty-six years of diving around the globe, I have yet to see a single one on any dive trip (I think they exist only in cyberspace and one or two Northern FL caves).
