Whenever you can get on here and show me where I am wrong and you guys have some better way, I will immediately adopt that. The problem is that you can not do that, and you are merely the 10,000th person who has made the comment below and been hopelessly unable to make any sense of the alternatives. The fact is that cave diving outside of our rules and wreck diving the way you guys and the NE guys do it has a horrible track record. The fact that some people can live though repetitively doing stupid things is not a validation, otherwise Brett Gilliam would be the king, and Evil Kneival would be another guy to emulate. I have no respect for dumb fuckery. Sorry, but there is nothing you guys do that I can not do a hell of a lot better my way. Just an absolute fact, and it has nothing to do with any magic on my part, it only has to do with what obviously makes sense and what obviously works in all circumstances. If you want to argue cold water or ice diving and DIR, then talk to the Lundgrens and the other Scandinavians. Don't even bother with the wreck diving, I have done more of that than I ever will do cave dives, unless you want to entertain me with how the SWBS on the Seeker with Gentile and his air doubles and air pony strapped behind his back with a slobwinder diving solo is a good idea. Let me tell you one thing - put up or shut the fuck up. I am so sick of the kind of logic you display in this post. No facts, just your bullshit opinion. Prove me wrong , or try to anyway. -----Original Message----- From: Tim Lasby [mailto:tlasby@mi*.co*] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 3613 12:48 AM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Process This message is for Trey. I realize the path you have taken to get where you are. The sport of diving has grown exponentially, in major part because of your contribution. GUE and WKPP are leading the way in todays instruction. My question lies in this........ Are you open to new techniques, gear, methods, etc. Not as a challenge to DIR, but keeping an open mind for improvement. A closed mind stands still. I realize that at this point DIR, logically, is undeniably efficient. But to take, for instance, what NE wreck divers do,( and succeed )or what great lakes wreck divers do ( myhe most awesome preserved wrecks in the world )u ridicule them. I admire your conviction, but I also admire these peoples adaptability. Ridicule me as you might for not having the longest cave dive, but I don't desire to stifle creativity, and invention. It's what has gotten us where we are now. By now most people who matter are aware of DIR. Many promote it, Some don't but dive it. Either way, IT'S A GREAT SYSTEM!! However, the NE wreckdivers have great techniques also..........the icedivers have great techniques also......Fact is,lot of ways! You defend posts with knowledge and experience, but I've never seen a hint of acknowlegment for anyone elses ideas. One person can't possibly know every thing there isto know about a subject. Go ahead and tear me a new one......... Maybe I even visited rec.scuba......OH that makes me an asshole.......... Hope you haven't lost touch........ BTW I'll be in Lake Superior down 310' on a wreck torommow.... Diving with a buddy 100% DIR. Cheers! -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
