In short, a diver (Cédric Darolle) was reported misssing on Sept. 28th by a co-diver after 3 hours. Rescue atttempts were done by the fire fighter brigade, but in vain. It does not come out clearly, wether another diver, Pascal Bernabe, did have to help the deceased in the -100m zone, or if this staement refers to another dive. It is stated the existance of an air filles space under pressure 5oo m into the cave, from where further exploration has been lead by Rick Stanton, to -110m. The french cave team rescuers were not involved officially at first, though they stress here the point that they should have been, because of the nature of the cave, constituting some air filled spaces, where a diver might have found retreat, and because of their superior skills and eqipment. One of them found the diver, who's body was recovered later. The official responsability of actions has been transferred in the course of the rescue attempts from the fire brigade/ police to the head of the district then to the district attorney.
