George, thanks for the info on the D400. It's obvious that I should stay away from it. Since we are on the equipment topic, what's your opinion on the Apeks FCD (Freeflow Control Device)? It's supposed to be a little manual slider installed between the second stage and its hose, which would allow for second stage isolation during major freeflow. Do you think it adds any practical value to cold-water diving? Thanks again and Merry Christmas. Try breathing it other than on land in an upright position. This is the worst piece of shit ever made ( other than the "Air One" that these morons used to make). -----Original Message----- From: ggiovani@at*.ne* [mailto:ggiovani@at*.ne*] Sent: Monday, December 24, 2001 11:11 AM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Scubapro D400 In a recent posting, I read that the D400 is not recommended as a stage reg for "well known reasons." Could someone elaborate on this? Perhaps as a more general question, what are the pros and cons of a D400 second stage and how does it compare to a reg such as the G250? Thanks and Happy Holidays.
