Since the brain is sitting inside the skull, there is no direct effect from
ambient
pressure.  However, based on my experience with diffusion into and out of
injured/swollen
brain tissue, the swollen areas will probably have a hard time off gassing due
to the poor blood flow in those areas.  That, plus the increased risk of ox-tox
would make decompression especially risky.
Again, since I don't have any medical information on this particular incident,
I'm just theorizing.
