Charlie,
I am a DIR diver. I haven't always been one but I am now and always
will be one. I have lost count of the many questions and comments I have
responded to offline in what I hoped and intended to be a civil manner. I
will occasionally post comments to the list in a civil and sometimes
humorous style. Rarely, I will pull out the 2 X 4 for some idiot that hits
one of my hot buttons (like deep air) and I believe they deserve every
insulting, condesending, and sarcastic rebuke I can muster. If this is what
you want to focus on then that's your problem. The reality is that the vast
majority of the DIR people I know convey their message in a civil manner-
it's just that the 2 X 4 sessions are more public and memorable.
If you have a specific question I'll be glad to answer it (as well as I can)
offline.
