Adam, 
pls could you be more specific to as to what practices of Carla you
object?
In detail, say aloud what is wrong with her ideas of bouancy, and
redundancy.
You pretty much sound like a clone with no real life experience.
Just spend a minute on risk analysis on someone who does not dive caves,
scooters, or in an impact prone environment which would likely kill tank
O-rings, valve knobs, lower spindles, and at the same time give
reasonable cause to regulator freezing.
