I assure you Karla my panties are not in a wad! Every post you add more and
more and I don't know why. No deeper than 175-180 on a single tank - yikes! The
H-Valve, I thought we put that one to bed months ago. The pony, I don't even
want to talk about that.

To be honest Karla, I don't know why I was the one to bite this time. My only
concern is for the inexperienced divers on this list. Your presenting ideas and
methods that in my opinion, and I know I'm not alone on this, are flawed. I'm
not trying to change the way you dive but maybe I can influence someone else to
do the right thing.

"I can get by" - maybe that's ok for you, but it's not for me.

Adam

  So, Adam,

Are you saying that I am wrong to dive my steel 120 or my 95 (singles) wet?
Because that is what I do. And will continue to do it. Now, with my 120, I
have to carry about 2-4lbs of weight. With my 95---none.

If I dove alum. I would have to wear about 7-8lbs plus my 6lb steel
backplate to remain neutral or slightly negative.

When I have dove alu. doubles, I had to strap 14-15lbs to me to dive them and
remain neutral.

Now, since I have no hips, and weight belts fall off me constantly, so I
rigged up a harness...works great, except that it is dangerous, in my opinion,
because it would not be easy to ditch in an emergancy.

If, I only had to carry 4-5lbs around my waist, I can do that, and keep it
on, any more, and someone is a happy camper that they find this nice weight
belt with weight on it.

So, if I am having to carry 14-15 lbs with alu. doubles, and nothing with my
95, would it not stand to reason that an extra 95 would be the equivalant of
the 14lbs of weight that I am having to carry?

It made sense to me at the time. Doesn't now.

Besides which, for the type of diving that I intend to do, I don't need
doubles.(no deeper than 175-180.) I can get by with my 120(h-valve) and pony
with extra he in it, and a pony to deco on.

Don't get your panties in a wad, dude.

  Karla
