Adam,

I do not use a dry suit, and never will.  I have used steel tanks, without a 
wetsuit since I started diving, and still have to wear a total of about 10 
lbs.  6lb back plate, and 4lbs in my bc.  Hence, I assumed---wrongly---that a 
alu.  backplate and no weight and a 6mm would do the trick.
