Subject: Re: DIR knots

I use an EE reel with a double-ender.  This seems to violate the no
metal-to-metal connection rule, but my Tech 1 instructor didn't seem to have
any problems with it.

If anyone knows why this metal to metal connection is permitted and the rest
are not, please let me know.
