As the end comes to my fifth diving season living along the NC coast comes to a close it becomes very clear that there is, or at least seems to be, little tech diving activity along the central NC coast. In part this may be due to interested parties not having access to each other, it may be a failure to properly promote tech diving opportunities when they arise, perhaps operators aren't interested in offering tech level trips (though I haven't found that to be entirely true), maybe there's little notice of technical level training programs or perhaps there's simply a general lack of information access and exchange. In an attempt to rectify some of these possibilities I have decided to set-up a mailing list dedicated to advanced and technical diving in and around North Carolina. While this may not grow to the level of activity found on the Virginia Beach list, it will hopefully enjoy some activity. Who knows, if response is strong enough monthly meetings might even be a possibility.... or at least occassional outings. If you would be interested in subscribing, or know some that would, subscription is as easy as simply sending an email to NCtechdivers@sportdiverhq.com, with the word "subscribe" in the body of the message. What kind of content would be suitable? General discussions applicable to advanced wreck diving and technical diving obviously would work. Notifications of upcoming charters of interest to divers at this level would be fine. Notice about technical level training courses being offered in the area would also be welcomed. As long as it stays somewhat civil it's really up to the subscribers what they want on the list. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
