Marty, I ride a racing bike ( not a motorcycle ) and I wear a helmet. That's
only 30 some miles per hour, but too fast for the head. I have seen too many
bad outcomes where some bluehair pulls out in front of somebody or where the
riders feet get caught and his head hits the ground first.

Notice in this argument that the usual idiots are on the usual wrong side.

Obviously you guys have never come off at speed.

I've come off twice. Once on the track at 220km/hr, and once on the road
at 50km/hr.
On the track I had a helmut, leathers, back protector etc etc. I came out
of that with a sore knee.
On the road I had jeans, jumper, helmut, gloves. Truck pulled out in front
of me I jumped.
I broke my leg, smashed my left knee, and smacked my head on the pavement
(so that's what's wrong with me).
Each time the helmut saved my life (all "they" need to do now is produce a
helmut for the body).

I'm no pro in diving, but I tell you guys one thing,

THE WHAT IF'S HAPPEN!

Motorcycle riding and diving are just as dangerous as each other.

I go diving with twins, either tec or rec. IT'S SAFER, and it ensures
that I have a better chance of doing it again.
I ride the motorbike fast on the track and road with all the gear, because
I know it hurts if I don't, maybe kill me.

I started riding before diving. I know that one foolish move means
disaster for a long time and that pisses me off.

I only know two people who dive DIR. They both taugh me the ins and outs,
plus the net, plus George helping me with a few questions along the way.
I only dive with them, because they are sensible, have the same gear and
there's no F**CKING about! If somethig goes wrong help is instantaneous.

If you really like doing what you do, then do it so you can do it again!!

Marty

The laws made by men regarding helmets have been repealed.

The laws of physics, however, are still in place, and Mother Nature tends
to
be VERY strict about enforcing them when she feels the need.

I went down at 40 mph on a Suzuki Water Buffalo one bright spring day many
years ago.  The helmet definitely saved my boyish good looks, and very
probably saved my life.

Please ride carefully.  We don't really need more statistics or clinical
experience with severe head trauma.

According to a cop that stopped me for slightly exceeding the speed limit
on a bike, the purpose of the helmet especially a full face is to make ID
easier.  Keeps those dental record up to date.
