Skip, these guys do not want answers, they want a fight. I am here for them.
They don't need to know, they have it all figured out. That is why you and I
get to have all the cave and why the DIR guys here is S Florida and
elsewhere get to have all the wrecks. Go figure.

None of the practises of DIR are followed as you say "because GI3 says so".
Every procedure, piece of equipment, technique, etc that is DIR is there
because it has been carefully studied, tested, analyzed and compared to all
known alternatives and found to be the best solution for the application at
hand.

Period.

Now GI3 has been at the heart of this process, but if you want to know why
any part of the DIR philosophy is done a certain way, a real question or
request about the issue (instead of an accusation phrased as a question)
will get you a detailed explanation of the reason and logic behind that
practise.
