Not quite right - tx40 is the same as tx50 minus adjuster knob. tx100 has
some cosmetic and ergonomic differences, I think it's lighter or something.
Not enough difference in the first stage to matter between the 100 and the 50.
The tx100 has a different first stage, though, smaller and with no swivel.
I'd like to see the tx100 first and the tx40 second packed together, or a
mix-and-match available - I assume you can do this mail-order, but my local
shop has to special-order these for now.

As to the adjuster knob - this is the first reg I've ever owned with one
(the tx50), and I find I spend a lot of time twiddling the thing underwater.
I'm not sure it's actually of any value, though, and I know it sometimes
hooks on my inflator hose when I turn my head to the left. I think
I'd but the tx40 next time.

Yeah, I put in the adaptors and the long hose, and notice no difference
in performance. You might be able to measure a difference on a machine,
but hell, we're nowhere near that sensitive.

Have to agree. There are a lot of other good regs out there, but given
the rep and my experience, I'd but another apeks in a minute.
