This is a response to the others (also) who suggested that I was ,
what, way over the top?

I apologise.

Some will know that I've posted here on photography before but, and
I'm entirely unsure whether I am entirely correct in broadcasting what
follows on, admittedly, a highly specialised list but I'd commend the
U/W Photography Forum to those so minded (those that don't know of it
and I know that not a few here are members already):

There are some extraordinarily talented people on that list (hardly
me) happy to give of their expertise.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, those of you who may now subscribe to that list,
please note:

It is benign, I've been there for more years than here and I've been
on this list for the odd year or several; in that time there have been
but two flame wars on the photog list, by my standards and my
standards are, I like to think, extremely high. Neither of those flame
wars would have raised an eyebrow on this list. Even today when,
thankfully, it's a damn sight better than it used to be.

The photog list is highly supportive. Do you, please, get the message?

For those of you so minded, do enjoy the list, as I do and as I
respect its politeness.

Cheers,

Christian
