Look on the WKPP.org site for correct rigging of stages and read the text.
The lower clip has a longer tail and you can either wrap it under the handle
to make it short or leave it out to make it long. This should keep it easy.

Remember that only the top of the stage needs to be tight. That holds the
nose properly and prevents drag. The butt must be lose so it can find its
own slipstream. If you make them tight, you will be dog slow.

Subject: Stage rigging

George,

a quick question if I may.

All of my diving is open ocean. I've been practicing with twin AL40's as
stages and I have them rigged as you've indicated. In the water they're
perfect, I hardly know they're there. However I find them difficult to
manage on the boat.

In other words whilst sitting on the side getting mentally focused predive I
have them clipped on at the bottom and unclipped at the top, there by taking
the weight off the harness and allowing me to relax. My last action before
entering is to secure the two top clips.

I find this quite difficult. The first one goes on easily but its always a
struggle to get the second one on. Its as if the rigging isn't long enough
to reach. Despite lots of repetition it doesn't seem to be getting any
easier and it becomes a bit stressful when you consider the Middle East
temperatures.

Both stages are rigged identically with Halcyon kits and the bolt snap on
the break and I believe they conform with the protocols you've laid out. So
the question is am I missing some thing basic here? I was wondering whether
or not you used a longer lower tail on one stage but I'm sure you'd have
mentioned it if that were the case.

Thanks

Olly
