Jim My spikes ( hand turned out of aluminum) wont hold me in these currents but will help me manover. Our river sticks are designed to help us in current diving. Down stream lets say near harsons island my spikes do quite well and the current is only .5 to 1 knots but vis is normally less than 4 feet or so. I have seen it as high as 10 though. Depth here runs 35 feet with heavy frieghtor traffic. It is a very interesting dive with lots of artifacts to find. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rogers, Thomas A" <Thomas.Rogers@PS*.Bo*.co*> To: <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Thursday, August 02, 2001 4:39 PM Subject: Drag force generated by a diver in the water > > I ran some calculations on the Drag force (lbs) which would be generated by a diver in the water as a function of the current. > > These are ROUGH numbers.
