>From: "Joe Citelli" <joe@po*.co*> >They said stuff like this about Force Fins also. We've had many things sound pretty good at first and not pan out. However, some of the stuff actually works. >If you were rowing a boat, a smaller oar with a gap down the middle of the >paddle and on a flexible rubber pole would work better than one made of >solid wood? That isn't a reflection of how I fin. A much closer analogy would be sculling the boat with a single oar from the stern. In that case, a vented flexible blade and a shaft with a bit of flex may indeed be more efficient. The problem with that setup is the need for a different rigidity for different loading in the boat. I would imagine that there would be a change needed for different speeds as well. >Test results can be made to say anything, especially when trying to sell >something. Absolutely. Since I'm not taking the plunge until the entanglement issue is solved, I'm firmly parked in my ringside seat for the time being. I believe they are the largest group of split fin purchasers. ><G> Does a pregnant chad have the right to choose? :) Don _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
