Subject: composite tanks

I came across some formerly military composite dive tanks that were stamped
rated to 5000 psi.  would anyone out there be able to shed some light on the
use for these tanks or any aditional info.  They did not have a valve on
them but they had a threaded male connection out the top similar to a large
oxygen tank.
