Hey, maybe cave divers and other "entry point oriented" divers could just leave their weights at the entry point. Then we could just carry our 50 lb rigs to the entry point, slap on some weights, and go diving! Maybe said magazine editor could invent a new sport using composite tanks without added weights...He could call it SCSBA (Self Contained Surface Breathing Apparatus).
