Thom, regarding decongestants, I had a doc tell me recently that there have been a lot of studies on decongestants and other drugs to see if they would speed up drainage in an ear infection. The result is that no drug is any more effective than not taking anything. Just relating what the guy said. Antibiotics, of course, are a whole other kettle of fish.
