Mine was one of the failed knobs that led to the recall. On a GUE tech 1 class one of my knobs broke off, and two of another student's did the same, so we had three failures in two days. You can put the high failure rate on the class down to over-zealous use (can't understand why those damn left posts keep rolling off in open water on these classes!) but its certainly a real problem with that type of knob. By the way, if you look at the pictures of the good & bad knobs at http://www.halcyon.net/recall/ you can probably ignore the manifold side fitting view - I have some good knobs that came directly from Sherwood that look more like what they show as the incorrect type from that side. Comparing the failed knobs to the good ones, the outside fitting view is the obvious difference between the failed knobs and the good ones (particularly the rubber molding with 4 small holes surrounding the main shaft, which was totally missing from my failed ones).
