If I, as an itty bitty fishie, saw this huge ponderous, protuberances all over, thingie moving towards me, four huge fins and a "head" that moves independently, I'd have serious doubts about my immediate future. Conversely, because I don't recognise this self same "thing" as a predator of my species, I might just ignore it and that is (perhaps) what happens. I've, and I'm sure lots of others of us have similarly, been with seals not generally exposed to divers. First they treat you curiously, show off, then they wonder whether you might be good enough to eat. Most first do the "taste test" on your fins but one came up to my arm with an avaricious gleam in its eye. Since that arm had already been "taste tested" by a particularly large moray many years before it got withdrawn pronto. > Bubbling may have a reminder in fish, since at least there are some > cetacean predators which use bubbles as a hunting method . True, but these are very specific instances in very specific places which are very cold, which invariably refer to schooling fish and which are not the natural habitat of the average u/w photog, even the "unaverage" one. Unless your name happens to be Amos Nachoum, inter alia. This is getting seriously Off Topic, so I'm withdrawing from the fray.
