I have dove lake superior in a wet suit in 39 degree water. I however would
not dive to this depth. I was diving in the Sault when I heard the distress
call go out. From the parts that I could here I thought he had drifted away
from the boat. I could only here the coast guard. I am new into tech diving
and am slowly exploring my limits. My gear is my biggest limit followed by
expierence. In regaurds to this accident the first information I heard was
that the first diver ascended because of his air supply (80) was low. the
second diver stayed down (like he normally does) (steel 120) but after 30
minutes the diver surfaced to warn the boat and went back down to finish
deco. I cannot afford doubles as of yet. My next purchase is an isolation
valve. But I do dive 120' on a wetsuit and a 120 but I always stay with my
buddy. It sounds like he should have never left his spare air supple (buddy)
for either of their safeties.

My opinion
Thom

I know others wont agree with my type of diving but I thought I would add to
what I knew about the accident
