Ed,

The stuff I bought at Lynnhaven Dive Center in Virginia Beach is pretty
flimsy once it is stretched to about twice it's relaxed length.

Although it is fine when the regulator is under my chin, I have to be
careful not to break it when I'm getting into and out of my gear. I've done
some swimming with the necklace off and the reg flapping in the breeze and
it wasn't difficult. If the necklace were to break underwater, it would be
an annoyance, not a problem. The reg certainly isn't going far on that
short hose.

I'm pretty sure the stuff I used to use to make trolling lures out of would
get me killed in this application.

It sounds like someone set you up pretty badly with screwed-up DIR advice.

Don
