Hi Karla,

I can't speak for what others may do but for me, if I'm with a student, I'd
sure as hell grab him as soon as he started up and do what I needed to do to
get him back down. BTW, this has actually happened to me with a student at
around 120 feet while coming up from a 200 foot dive. I grabbed his fin and
by the time I could dump his and my wings we were at around 30 feet before
starting back down. Not the most enjoyable dive I can remember.

It's never happened to me with a buddy, but I imagine my reactions would
probably be the same. When I deco, I try to always be within a kick and an
arm's length of my buddy.

Take care and dive safe, Scott

Some weeks it's just not worth the effort to gnaw through the restraints and
scramble up out of the pit.

What do you do when you are in deco, or have deco, and your buddy suddenly
shoots to the surface?

Do you risk getting bent or embolizing to go after him?

I know what I would do. but would be curious to what you would do.
