I agree that the Monterey Trench does have some DEEP water, but nobody I know dives to 8000 FSW. I don't have a boat and the local boats, (Cypress Sea, Silver Prince) aren't going to even allow a 100+ ft. dive. Beach dives, except for maybe Monestary? are well within 100 ft. unless you want to swim out 500yds. As far as dedicated eqmt. I'm looking to set up some sort of standard so I can use it as is without having to do special fills for EACH dive. Nitrox Fills where I live are impossible to find, so I need to have fills ready to go, when I go. I figure that the more experienced Nitrox Divers have probably figured out a rule of thumb for Nitrox I, II fills....
