Thom, The short answer is "sometimes." There were some 72s, especially the older ones, with an oddball thread. The newer ones I have seen have the same 3/4-14 thread as most low pressure tanks. The real question is "Why screw around with that piece of crap manifold?" You're just going to throw it away later anyway. There are several outfits selling pretty good dual output manifolds for about $150. The Sea Elite is a bit more and the Halcyon is a bit more yet.
