Well, it helped that you didn't do any of the things that draw flames around
here:

1. You gave the impression that you actually dive.
2. You actually tried the Hogarthian method for a decent length of time.
3. When a problem came up you didn't go off on a tirade about how all
DIR/Hogarthian diving is bullshit.
4. You didn't come up with an impossible scenario to justify some odd
configuration.

Seriously, it appears that the section of hose between your waist strap and
your left shoulder is wandering around a bit on you.

I haven't found a guide to the position of that hose yet.  I just fiddle
with it until it feels right.
