I have resisted sending notes to the list as they seem to show up twice and I
get several error messages. It seems others have the same problem. Any
solutions w/o restrictions?Sorry if it posts twice.

I have just sold off my Sherwood manifold in favor of the 200 bar DIN resold
by Dive Rite. I believe it's Swiss made. The reason is the double Oring
is needed for trimix diving (so I'm told) and it's more tolerant of torque due
to the long stems and 2xO rings and it can take a yoke regulator. My issue is
the 200 bar. I want to put it in my Genesis tanks, which really should have
300 bar/DIN valves. Not to worry my fearless buddy says, just change the burst
disks and shops will pump 'em up to 4000 psi ! I like the insert converter in
the swiss manifold that allows me to use my yoke regs, but feel it isn't
safe to use the 200 bar manifold in my Genesis tanks. Do people use 'em anyway?

The Sherwood manifold has extra deep screw-in DIN sockets that are too deep
to get a yoke around even if you could get a screw-in adaptor.

Do the swiss make a 300 bar/DIN and if so, where can I get it? I assume they
don't or the shops I know of would carry them. I've seen the Beachat (sp?) and
don't like the way they have a single large O ring. I am also interested in
single tanks valves with an H or Y valve. The threads can be for Genesis or
regular aluminum tanks (I have both).

Does anyone have any comments on the O ring design/safety and Trimix?

On computer use/gas management/and getting bent. It's always the slow tissues
that get folks with these repetitive deeper dives when the computers say they
are clear. It seems computers are not up to the task
when you need to/have to go deeper the second part of a dive or
on a dive the same day. Do people know which ones' test envelopes include
the deeper-than-the-last-one repetitive dives? (especially the Oceanic Pro
air-integrated computer) I would say the DCS hit was related to the uptake
on the 20 ft dive not being accounted for by the computer as well as the random
variational nature of human physiology. There will always be stupid people and
stupid divers.

I am intrigued by the advantage that metric units have over the English
units in calculations. Is there some information available on calculations,
particularly for Nitrox? Is there a place in the states that sells gauges with
bar markings? I'd like to be able to be albe to operate safely with both sets
of units. However, with my short experience with meters, I do find the
use of meters a bit disconserting. There seems to be a lot of rounding off
when used in conversions or estimations of depth/length due to the larger
unit of measurement.Has anyone else noticed this? Are SI computers/depth
gauges in tenths of meters? That would be even more accurate than ft...
