I think the OxyHackers Handbook from Airspeed Press is a must read for a
beginner. You might also want to start cultivating a local dive shop for air
tops :)))
  Good luck,
  Later,

Subject: Setting up fill station in garage question

    Hello all,

Well my new roommate is moving in this weekend and he and I are both
aspiring DIR style divers. We have had some brief conversations about
setting up helium and O2 banks in our garage to do our own fills and mixes.

Now having never done this before I was wondering if anyone has a FAQ on
the equipment we are going to have to buy, any best practices for doing this
from folks who have done it before, any books, computer programs, etc. that
we should have, as well as any experienced opinions or just lessons learned
from mistakes made in setting something like this up before.

We dive frequently in the Monterrey Bay area of California where the
water temps range from 47 F to 55 F year round so we also plan to have an
argon bottle in the garage for our dry suits as well.

    Thanks for all the help!
    Stefan.
