Tom, when Uwatec quit making the bottom timers that read past 328, we began looking for something else. Suunto has the Vyper which fills the bill and is very cheap, as in about the price of a bottom timer. We use it in "gauge mode", not as a computer. It also has the download functions which we use in WKPP to record our profiles for DAN should there be an accident, and for the Navy to study our deco, and for Duke University, as well a our own records and Eric Baker's deco .program development. In WKPP and GUE we teach people about deco, we do not let them rely on a dive "computer", and by the way none of them work for decompression anyway, they are bs, but you would have no way of knowing that anyway. You are not qualified to discuss what we do in WKPP , or what JJ does with GUE, and the only post you should be making to this list is an apology for the years of damage you have done to diving. Nobody is about to listen to gear recommendations from you - you have been wrong too many times, and you are usually talking out of your ass anyway. By the way, next time you want to be a smart ass and make up a t shirt, like that "stroke" shirt you think is so clever, make one with a list of your court appearances on the back, like one of those rock concert shirts - that would be more appropriate. -----Original Message----- From: Tom Mount [mailto:TOM.MOUNT@in*.at*.ne*] Sent: Thursday, May 24, 2001 10:17 AM To: Jim Cobb; Z; FLTechDiver@mikey.net; Tech Diver Subject: Re: Trimix Computers Gee and Halcyon is GUE and WKPP right hand and gets bucks from them and vice versa Second Kevin gets money from cets in UK he also distributes proplanner and the VR 3 so he makes money from them so what No I did not get a free one and IANTD does not sell the VR 3 in the USA it is sold by OMS Do I use it yes and guys so what I also dive 90% of the time on CCR and use decap on the Cis, CPM 0n the CCR 2000, and will be using Will's new program with my Megalodon Yes I always run tables just for a backup and I have most likely used software more than any of you guys and most likely before many of you "so called experts" were even diving. We even used to make our own tables from scratch which is quite easy to do. But all in all I prefer computers and I could care less what you prefer, as it is your right to think and decide you know like the shirt says thinking divers only ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Cobb" <cobber@ci*.co*> To: "Z" <mzurl@be*.ne*>; <FLTechDiver@mikey.net>; "Tech Diver" <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Thursday, May 24, 2001 9:17 AM Subject: Re: Trimix Computers > You did not get my point.
