Jim,

The hole should help as long as the plug were fully threaded in, but it seems
that if it were only in a few threads and the valve were turned on ....

The web site says
<< These plugs will pay for themselves when compared to the cost and
inconvenience of losing your gas supply in transit just once. And, if you've
ever tried to attach your regulator to an egg-shaped DIN valve outlet, you
will really appreciate these protective plugs. >>

Personally, I can't imagine <<attaching your regulator to an egg-shaped
DIN
valve outlet >> and then actually diving with the thing. It seems to me that
it'd take a heck of a blow to change the DIN opening to an oval and I don't
think I'd want to use the valve after such a blow.

But then again, what do I know about diving compared to the all knowledgeable
dive shops around.

Take care and dive safe, Scott

Some weeks it's just not worth the effort to gnaw through the restraints

and scramble up out of the pit.

I use a set of the plugs and they have a small hole drilled in the

center to prevent this from occuring. Their only purpose is to prevent

thread damage if the cylinder falls over on the valve. I have heard that the

plastic ones sometime shatter when this occurs.
