You did not get my point. With a laptop computer and a tables program like
decoplanner, you can spend hours before the dive analysing different
profiles, deco gasses, bailout situations, etc.

You also learn your personal tolerances and can account for these as well.

And don't tell me you can do this worth a crap with a wrist unit.
