When I first joined the list, I admit, I was a bit surprised by Trey's
tone. I was hesitant to pose any sort of question to the list for fear of
getting slammed. But, you know what? If you ask questions here, they get
answered. The problem starts when somebody starts spouting bullshit
information like they know what the hell is going on. Somebody out there
who is eager for knowledge will see the bullshit and may be tempted to
believe. Trey treating the strokes like lepers tends to expose the
stupidity. Bad information needs to be stopped in its tracks before someone
goes and gets themselves killed based on stupidity propogated by some
less-than-informed person who pretends to know "the deal".

"Reasoned discussion" invites counter argument. There is no room for
counter argument with DIR. It's DIR because it's right. It's been tried,
evolved, and ironed out, all at no expense to those who wish to learn
without insisting they know better. There are damn good reasons for doing
every minor detail the way Trey does it, and they make a lot of sense. Ask
the "how", understand the "why", and it's really quite clear. Understanding
the "why" is where most people get wrapped around the axle. If you don't
understand the "why", go to High Springs or Ft. Lauderdale and learn it.
And, before someone takes a shot at my manhood, I am the last person on
this planet who wants or needs to kiss anyone's ass, for any reason
whatsoever. I do, however, give credit where it is due. I am all about
improving my survivablilty in everything I do, and I shudder to think where
I might be right now if I had not found DIR.

A pile of shit is a pile of shit. Bigger piles just means a bigger mess.
Want to see who knows breathers? Watch how far Wakulla goes out this
summer. Want to see who doesn't? Watch the body count from everyone else.

The message needs to be driven home. Ego has nothing to do with it. The
only egos involved are the fragile ones of those who insist they know
better, even in the face of evidence to the contrary. Being right means
never having to say, "I'm sorry." , and never having to compromise
