The rated time is based on the temps I use it in.  I think the extra
duration is from conservative ratings/my low metabolism (???)

However, your point is *VERY* well taken.  FOLKS OUT ON THE INTERNET:

DO NOT attempt to use a scrubber passed it's rated duration!!!!  Make sure
you know the correct duration for the water temp you use it in!!!!
(Diminishing duration with colder water; LiOH not as big a problem with that)

The only reason I've pushed beyond the limit of the scrubber was for
deliberate tests during training under CONTROLLED conditions to familiarize
myself with the onset of CO2 buildup symptoms. I recommend all rebreather
divers get familiar with these symptoms, but DO IT UNDER CONTROLLED
SETTINGS!!!
