Had to comment on this one. I don't know the big fat mean guy (bfmg) or the store, but I know what Trout is talking about. Here's how a typical conversation with one of these guys might go: Me: Are you a nitrox diver/instructor? BFMG: No, but I used to do a lot of Trimix diving when I was a Navy Seal. Me: The SEALs use Trimix??? BFMG: They did when I was with them. Me: When was that? BFMG: During the 80s. I won two medals for Grenada. My whole team except for me and one other guy were wiped out. I rescued the other SEAL and about a half dozen medical students. I should have gotten the medal of honor, but all those anti-Reagan peace-monger pinkos were saying the Grenada operation was a big joke, so the liberal-democrat congress put the screws to the whole deal. Me: Where did you do your BUD/S Training? BFMG: My what? Me: BUD/S. I think it stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/Seals. BFMG: I didn't do BUD/S training, I went straight to SEALs from the Marines. Me: Which Seal Team were you on? BFMG: What do you mean? Me: You know, like ST-1, which is where Jesse Ventura did his reserve duty, or ST-6, the anti-terrorist unit. BFMG: Uh, ST-6. Me: (bluffing). I know a couple of guys that were on ST-6 during the mid-80s, who was your CO? BFMG: My CO? ... Uh.... Oh yea! I can't tell you that, it's classified. Me: How about your swim buddy, or your platoon officer? BFMG: Can't tell you that either. Me: I'd sure like to do the three week parachute school at Ft. Benning, GA. I bet that was a lot of fun, huh? BRMG: Ft Benning is an Army base; I wouldn't take no training from no Army pukes. Besides, I was able to skip that, because of my experience in the Marines. After I had done my orientation, I went straight into Trimix School! Me: Ohhh Kayyy! -Randy -------------- P/O original Message -------------------------------- From: "Jess Armantrout" <trout@ca*.co*> <mailto:trout@ca*.co*> Subject: Re: Seattle Dive Shop Warning Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2001 18:59:17 -0500 ten bucks says the bfmg claims to be an ex-Navy Seal. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
