NiCa / NiMH has a different discharge curve ( v/t) Voltage stays constant till dropoff point, whereas lead acid have a monotonous falling characteristic. The former are found in most HQ lamps in Europe. Lead acids is cheaper. My Hartenberger NiCa 124 served 13 years without any failure, before the accus had to be replaced because they did not hold the charge. regards Mike Rodriguez schrieb: > > At 08:25 AM 4/3/2001 +0100, Paul Carre wrote: > > Hello Paul, > > >Anyone know why most use NiCad / NiMh cells and not those sealed lead acid > >Gel batteries ? > > It's the other way around; most canister lights use lead-acid > batteries, *not* NiCad. > -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
