The guy left his work quite suddenly, before he had time to
unsubscribe. Of course he needs to unsub from his subscribe address
and although he has e-mailed his former work place to ask them to do
it for him, this obviously hasn't happened.

If the listowner doesn't/can't/whatever unsubscribe him, our only
recourse, I would suggest, is to *all* write to his work address and
"persuade" them to unsubscribe him.
