An oxygen sensor is merely a voltage generator. A voltmeter that reads millivolts works just fine . The relationship between voltage output and percent oxygen is basically linear, so this is not too tough. What that means is you buy only a sensor, and use your multimeter with it to test gas. Some of these things put out about 12 millivolts with air, and some about 18. Figure out the rest. I hold my sensor up to the tank valve and read the meter. Real tough. Since these things are not accurate enough to get geeky about. -----Original Message----- From: Christopher Brown [mailto:hokiediver@ya*.co*] Sent: Monday, March 12, 2001 10:49 PM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Cc: vbtech@ci*.co* Subject: Homemade 02 analyzers What is the consensus on homemade 02 analyzers? Are they accurate enough? What about flow-through vice "plug-in" quick disconnect type 02 sensors? What is the accuracy of the measurement in a flow through vice plug in 02 sensor? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
