This is a preliminary report on the techdiver survey for all of
you who were kind enough to respond.
I want to thank those of you who pointed out the errors in the
survey and I made corrections where required.
One point of interest already is that the 35 people who responded
made 20,000 plus dives with 3800 being decompression dives. For
those of you who responded that all dives are decompression dives
I apologise, I should have stated dives with planned and required
stage decompression not including 5m or 15 ft safety stops.
Based on the total number of dives there was a 0.03% incidence of
DCS with 14% of the respondents having had a DCS hit. Based on the
number of Deco Dives, the bends incidence was 0.18%
The next time I send out the results will be the final version.
Thanks again for all of you who have responded and also informing
me of some certifications I was not aware of. Oh, and
congradulations to the newlywed!!
