  Subject: SPG advice

  Hi all,
I've just joined the list. I'm an experienced recreational diver =
(10 years, 150+ dives; some lake michigan cold water wrecks, but mostly =
carribean diving) , moving into tech diving. My goal is to dive more =
cold water, and deeper wrecks (diving to 200 feet but no penetration). =
I'm certified IANTD and ANDI nitrox, have dry suit training but limited =
dry suit experience. I want to move to decompression and extended range =
certifications and to start diving with doubles. Before I jump into =
buying a backplate, tanks, manifold and SPG's I would appreciate any =
advice members of this list could give me on equipment recommendations. =
I've scanned the older postings and see a bias for DIR, and halcyon. My =
first equipment purchases will be a manifold, SPG.s, and a backplate =
(I'm 6'3", 240#). Please send advice to the list or off list to =
Jsplit@ma*.co*. Thanks in advance. =20
