On my pockets I set a grommet in the centre of each side panel
and about two inches down from the pocket mouth. I passed a piece
of bungee cord straight through both grommets and knotted it on
the outside. I knotted the cord so it is slightly shorter than
the pocket is wide so it pulls the sides of the pocket in slightly.
This concertinas the pocket (like a bellows). Everything is clipped
off in a row along this piece of bungy near the top of the pocket
with double enders. I open the flap, select what I want, pull it
up and unclip it.
