Alex,

I wear a size 13 shoe. I dive wet with Scuba Pro jet
fins and have no problem. My booties are 7mm with a
relativly hard "boat shoe like" sole. I can't speak
for the drysuit boot issue. It might be noteworthy to
mention that I have the older Jet Fins, not the
Lighting Jet Fins that SP now sells. I believe that
SP changed the rubber compound (to a lighter compound)
about 10 years ago (or so) and renamed the fin the
Lighting Jet Fin. I mention this because I don't know
if they changed the sizing when they changed the
compound...
Since the patent has expired, a number of companies
make knock offs of this fin, and they (the copycat
company) might make them in more sizes. Rodale's
(ducking as I type this) did a fin review a while ago
that listed a company that copied the design. While
in no way am I a DIR expert, I would guess that as
long as it was a good knock off, and the fin was
negitivley buoyant, it would be considered DIR... but
I'll let George/Trey, Pina, or someone who is more
familiar with the DIR mindset comment on that...
