That's what ebay is for.  Sell the old stuff to someone who doesn't know any
better and then buy the right gear.  Because I disagree that in the real
world you need to make compromises..

a couple of thousand feet back, in a silt out, compromises don't cut it..

Chris has already told you that you live by me and you are welcome to borrow
some gear.  In fact, JJ will be giving a DIR demo the weekend of March 2,3 &
4 in Northern and Southern California.  We will have details in the next day
or so, but you should plan on attending so you can get some of the answers
that you are seeking ...
