Not always the case I have had a battery go out in just over three years and Heather had one go out about 6 months after that. I returned both to Scubapro (own Uwatec now) and mine was replaced (out of warranty) for free and they charged a battery replacement fee for Heather's, I think about $40, and then send her a new one as well. Granted we dive more than most and our average dive not counting deco is 140 mins, so the batteries see some usage. If they had not replaced these I would have bought a Viper and ran it in gauge mode. I would go with the Viper, unless you are going deeper than it can, then I would find an old Aladin Pro and bend the living shit out of it. Scott Hunsucker >It would be very difficult to run down the battery in an Uwatec (or >the OMS branded version). The unit is designed to last 11 years with >100 dives/year. Most people will lose the thing long before that, and >if you manage to actually put 1100 dives on it, it'll probably be so >scratched and beat up by then that you won't want to change the battery >anyway. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
