Brian, I had to wait four week after my knee surgery. I had a cartilage graph place on the anterior portion of the Fibea. I also had to watch how much weight I place on the knee for a few months. Be sure to ask your Physician how long he thinks you should stay out of the water. They want to mostly guard against infection. When you start diving again, use NOAA1 or NOAA2 and do many dives say around 60 ffw or salt water. This three ATA is incredible Hyperbaric treatment and with the profusion of O2, the knee heals very quickly...swelling just disappears. Good luck -----Original Message----- From: Brian Hunter [mailto:sasha@ka*.ne*] Sent: Friday, February 16, 2001 12:21 AM To: techdiver Subject: Knee Surgary Would anyone know if a person would have to wait(and for how long)to go diving after knee surgary. My knee sounds like a bowl of rice crispies when I squat and sometimes walk on it.Doc. says I need to have the kneecap ground and cartilage fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
