Traditional designs like Beuchat,Scubapro,Poseidon Jet/profins Barakuda Gigant, Propuls, seem to win in the end. Split and other stuff means risk of entanglement in lines, that is why serious people use tape to minimize protruding edges. If you really care about efficiency, care about pure glaassfibre resin reinforced fins. These may be homemade out of freediving fins, probably with a slightly shorter blade. Gas comsumptions with this kind of fins drops by 15 %, as compared with other fins commonly regarded as efficient.
