Hi Stefan, > How come we don't use carbonfiber wrapped high pressure cylinders? > They are smaller and get hold gas at a higher pressure safer, hence why > the fire department uses them (so I was told). Does anyone have any > insight on this? As I understand it most people on that list dive mixed gases. It is very dangerous to mix gases under high pressure (300bar) as the gas laws becomes unpredictable. So there is no need for high pressure (300bar) tanks. On the other hand I suspect the bouyancy of these tanks will change a lot from full to empty. Which is not a problem for a fire fighter. Not to mention the additional stress to regulators and hoses. Hope I got it all right, Jens. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
