Tom, Apeks are metric . Since when is metric "unique"? On the other =
hand, those morons at Scuba Pro have custom sizes that are not to be =
found anywhere, and they are crap material that go bad in DAYS, not =
months or years - DAYS.=20

The "enriched air" is dive industry bullshit, as usual. Apeks is sold =
under Sea Quest. I have no problem with any of mine, and I use them on =
everything, unaltered from the factory.

And again, if you can fail an Apeks reg, let me know. They use good =
materials. Hopefully, their association with USD will not be the death =
of them, but just to be sure, I have bought nearly 20 Apeks regs in the =
past month.

You can't fix stupid, and the dive industry is the absolute worst run =
set of businesses I have ever encountered the 25 years since I got my =
degree in economics, and they just keep getting dumber.=20

  George,

I have read numerous posts by you concerning Apeks Regulators. In =
your opinion, they are the best for cave diving. I have read your =
various posts on the reasons, but some of your reasoning does not make a =
lot of sense to me. For instance, I have read a post by you stating =
that one should not buy gear that is "unique". Example, a strange =
inflator that requires a "special" hose. One that is not readily =
available at most reputable dive shops.

I just returned from DEMA with information that is to be pondered. =
Apeks regulators require "special" or "unique" "O" rings. They are not =
the standard Parker Hannifin variety. Therefore, unless you go directly =
to a shop that is an Apeks dealer you are basically out of luck with any =
type of "emergency" assistance. Also according to the Apeks Factory =
service representative, Enriched Air mixes above 23 percent are strictly =
not recommended. Do you only dive air with your Apeks? What do you use =
for Enriched Air?

I appreciate your valuable time in a response,

  Tom McMillan
